Acid Rain Investigation
Dear MST-7 Scientists,

Second, this week we will investigate how we can reduce the volume of acid rain that enters our soil.
Today’s objective will be to define acid rain and figure out how it’s produced. You will answer the following questions:
· What is acid rain?
· What chemicals make rain acidic, and how does it happen?
· Can you find a chemical equation that shows how acid rain is created?
· Where do these chemicals come from?

Metals - What % of elements do these make up?
Lanthanide Series (part of the inner transition metals) - Under "Meet the Family", what is unique about the actinide series?
Halogens - How many electrons do halogens have in their valence energy levels? What do halogens like to react with?
